We support healthy local events like the Tarantula Festival in Coarsegold.
Here is a starting Tarantula 9-Bean Soup supplied by the North Fork Branch Library.

Ingredients: Bean Soup mix (no additives) - 1 lb, salt - 2 tbs, diced ham or smoked sausage - 2 cups, chopped large onion,
chili powder - 1 tsp, can chopped tomatoes - 28 oz, lemon juice - 2 tbs, minced garlic - 2 cloves, bay leaf - 1.
Soak beans with salt overnight. Drain, and back in the pot with 2 quarts of water to simmer for 2½ - 3 hours.
Add other ingredients and simmer 45 minutes. Invite your neighbors over for a bowl of healthy bean soup.
(You may want to adjust receipt for vegetarian neighbors.)
